Forum Requirements
You must, plain and simple, have the "Cookies Enabled" on your browser. You will run in to a lot of difficulty if you do not remember this.
Make sure you know how to clear your Cache! Its very simple, and you will be suprised at how many megabytes of space your are "wasting" on your harddrive by not learning about your PC.
To Clear your Cache: START ----- PROGRAMS ---- WINDOWS EXPLORER, and on the left column, scroll down to "WINDOWS" and click on the + sign.
Under WINDOWS, look for the following: HISTORY and TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES.
To delete old history files, just click on the plus sign located beside HISTORY, and click on any folders contained within. Look in the right side screen, click on the top folder/file, click EDIT across the top, SELECT ALL, and click on the DELETE button.
To clear your CACHE, click on the plus (+) sign beside TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES (see Image #1 below)
Select any one of the funky worded folders UNDER Content IE:5, these are your CACHE & COOKIES files! Do not ever delete the CONTENT IE:5 folder!. Look in your right side of your screen, and you will see how stuffed full of dead weight your harddrive is! Now, all you do is repeat the process as you did with the History folder. Click on the top line of cookies, click on EDIT (across the very top of your screen); click on "Select All" and click Delete!
Now you can delete the folder full of funky letters and numbers. YES! You can! Click on the folder to highlight it; and click delete. You will get a warning that says:
Ignore it! Click "Yes"! Windows will not die, your computer will not threaten to explode; in fact, Windows will just automatically build another funky-named folder to store your cookies!
As a side note - this is where every webpage you visit is stored; and you know those "Virus WORMS" that attack address books? Be kind to those webmasters you visit - because HERE is where those WORMS/VIRUSES get email addresses, and by deleting these daily, you are not spreading those viruses!
More FORUM REQUIRMENTS:
You will need to use the "Refresh/Reload - OFTEN".
Please remember your password - the Administration can retreive it for you, however, there is no guarantee you will get it back in time for class.
If you have questions, comments or suggestions that have not been answered to your satisfaction, our door is always open, so please contact the Education Department.
