Finding your Class

Okay, so you've registered, logged in, cleared your cache, and also refreshed - now you want to find your Class and check out any information posted by the instructor!

After you are logged back into the board, the forum will appear like this (minus the purple text):

Class titles are listed in the gray border area. These are alphabetical, with Announcements always being the first Forum listed.

Under your Class title, you will see two (2) different forums - one is "Syllabus & Homework"; the second is "Questions & Discussions."

Students may only Post in the Questions & Discussions; however, you may VIEW the Syllabus & Homework forums and topics posted within.

HTML is not permitted in any of the Question & Discussion Forums.

Syllabus & Homework Forum

To enter the "Syllabus & Homework Forum, click on the MAROON text Syllabus & Homework as shown above in the image #1 under your Classroom Title, and your screen will appear as this below:

Now, you are able to view each of the Lesson Plans, Syllabus, Course Requirements, etc, that your Instructor will be posting for you. Please make sure you check this often, as your Instructor may or may not need to make changes as she deems necessary.

To return to the main LOTH Forum Bulletin Board, (the one with every class title listed); you may either (1) use the back button on your browser; or as indicated below in the image, click on one folder UP to return to that topic:

Miscellaneous Information

When you wish to post to a thread or "topic" as they are referred, as you see in the image below, all you need to do is to click on POST REPLY! If you wish to post a new topic, make sure you are logged in, refresh a time or two, (just for the fun of it); and then click on NEW TOPIC!

You are able to do many interesting things with the IkonBoards, and perhaps the best of all is that you can send emails to your instructor via the forum, and it will stay stored for her to retrieve - at the forum!

#1 - EDIT: Click here if you need to edit a post that you made.

#2 - PROFILE: Click here to review a profile of the student; such as ICQ, Email, AOL, and their resident state.

#3 - EMAIL: Click here to send an email to the person who posted - this is sent through Netscape Mail or Outlook/Outlook Express - whatever program your browser uses.

#4 - MESSAGE: Click here to send a message to the person who posted via the IKON Bulletin Board System. This is especially nice if you need to contact your instructor, and leave a quick message for her. She will be able to retrieve message left here.

#5 - ICQ: This will indicate if the person who posted is available on ICQ, and if so, what their number is.

So, we hope that you have fun exploring the Bulletin Board System for our LOTH-U Educational Program! Yes, its different - but, it honestly won't bite; and once you become accustomed to the refreshing/reloading and different features of the board, its a fantastic set up!
